있는 그대로 인정해 주세요 / 바이센테니얼맨

전 항상 논리적이려고 노력했습니다. 저의 존재에 대한 이유가 있습니다. 보시다시피 저는 더 이상 불멸이 아닙니다. 점점 늙어져서 쇠약해지고 있습니다. 여러분처럼 곧 기능이 정지됩니다. 로봇이라면 영원히 살 수 있습니다. 하지만 저는 영원히 기계로 사느니 인간으로 죽고 싶습니다.
그걸 원하는 이유가 뭐죠?
인정받고 싶습니다. 있는 그대로. 내가 누구인가 대해 찬사나 평가가 아니라 단순한 진실을 인정받는 것이 제 목표입니다. 그걸 이루기 위해 명예를 걸고 죽음을 택했습니다.

I always try to make sense of things, there must be some reason I am as I am. As you can see, I am no longer immortal. I am growing old and my body is deteriorating, and like all of you, it will eventually cease to funcion. As a robot, I could have lived forever. But I tell you all today, I would rather die a man than live for all eternity as a machine.
Why do you want this?
To be acknowledged ... for who and what I am. No more, no less. Not for acclaim, not for approval. The simple truth of that recognition, this has been the elemental drive of my existence. And it must be achieved, if I am live or die with dignity.

Believe it or not, the secret to all this is actually imperfection. Things like wrinkles, less-than-perfect teeth, details like fading scars, little pockmark- Look at my nose. It's bulbous and slightly irregular. Well, I am the only one who's got my nose, and that's what makes me, me. We need to incorporate these features into your design, so you can be the only one of you. That's what makes us unique, is those imperfections.
